A CRIME-fighting charity is £500 richer thanks to a donation.
The Lancashire Constabulary Police Federation Constables Branch Board handed over the cash to Lancashire Crimestoppers.
Crimestoppers allows people to ring a freephone number -- 0800 555111 -- with information on crime or criminals. All calls are anonymous and callers may qualify for a cash reward.
PC Mick Coupe, board secretary, said: "Crimestoppers is a proven system which both results in criminals being arrested and crimes being prevented.
"Crimestoppers is a valuable asset in the fight against crime and as such helps our members carry out their roles.
"We are happy to support the charity and I would urge other organisations and businesses to contribute towards their vital work."
Donations can be sent to Lancashire Crimestoppers, PO Box 77, Hutton, Preston, Lancs PR4 5SB. Cheques should be made payable to Lancashire Crimestoppers.
