ON Saturday Preston beat Scunthorpe 1-0 and edged ever closer to the title.
The scoreline in no way reflects what happened out on the park for, had Preston hit five or six, the visitors couldn't have complained.
Some excellent goalkeeping kept North End's tally down to just one goal, scored on 43 minutes by Brett Angell.
Paul McKenna put over a high cross which Evans came out to meet, but he seemed to lose the flight of the ball.
In raced Angell with a fine header under pressure and the ball dropped in under the crossbar as Deepdale became a cauldron of noise and excitement.
