PRESTON manager David Moyes isn't sure if spending money is the answer for next season's Division One campaign.

Chairman Bryan Gray has said there will be some cash available -- although no figures have been quoted -- after North End were crowned Division Two Champions.

"We have not talked about finances. It is nice to know there is money available but it is not always the answer," said the Scot, promoted in only his second season in charge at Deepdale.

"If you get some, it's got to be spent wisely and shrewdly. You have not to get carried away with the idea of spending money. Whether players cost a lot or nothing, sometimes it doesn't matter."

Moyes is keen for his current crop of players to enjoy North End's return to Division One after 19 years in the lower divisions and focus on their final two games -- starting at Millwall today.

"I think it is unfair to talk about buying new players next season when the players have done so well this season. All contracts will be sorted out at the end of the season," said Moyes.

The 37-year-old is highly rated in management circles and has high hopes of taking Preston one step further.

"Watford and Bradford are an inspiration to myself, the players and the supporters. They've recently got into the Premiership and their club is no bigger than ours." But he'll have to get used to the publicity which has already started following him around.

"I have had a lot of nice phone calls from people in the game. It has been pleasing but it is not easy to accept. I have to thank everybody for their kind words," he said.

Burnley fans will be relieved to hear the North End players are as eager as ever to win their last games -- and dent Millwall's automatic promotion hopes.

"They (Millwall) need to win and I know they will be coming here expecting to get a result. They showed by their performance against Burnley, coming back from 4-0 down to make it 4-3.

"But we will be giving everything. I don't like losing and I want to win every game I play, as do the players.

"People ask me if I'm looking forward to next season, but this season isn't over yet and I've got two games to prepare for -- and try and win."

And Deepdale will have a new look next season with the Town End due to be redeveloped by Christmas followed by the Pavillion Stand.

"We have got to get the stadium up and running. We have a wonderful pitch, two good sides and more development will keep moving the club forward," added Moyes.
