BLACKPOOL boss Steve McMahon is searching for another two players to complete his squad for the Division Three campaign.

Following the signings of midfielders Mike Milligan and Lee Collins, Macca has revealed that he wants a further two players -- not three as originally thought -- to complement the rest of the squad.

Both Milligan and Collins were Bosman players and joined the club with no fees paid, despite terms offered to the duo by their previous clubs, Norwich and Swindon respectively.

Collins finally put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the club on Monday (June 12).

He had been due to sign more than a week ago but his wife went into labour and Steve McMahon went on holiday, delaying the formalities.

The two players McMahon has yet to sign are expected to be a striker and defender.

With target Darren Byfield signing for Walsall, McMahon must now wait and see what names become available on a free or Bosman.

Dundee striker Darren Patterson is rumoured to have attracted McMahon's interest, while the club have stated publicly that they are not interested in Marco Gabbiadini. Another name being linked with Pool is that of previous loan-signing David Lee.

Lee enjoyed a successful time at Bloomfield Road from Wigan under previous manager Nigel Worthington.

Despite his age, Lee is a pacy winger whose talents could prove to be extremely valuable in the Third Division.

The end of the month should see a large number of players released by clubs as June is traditionally a quiet month on the transfer front.

Pool's pre-season tournament in St Kitts and Nevis is definitely on and will feature St Kitts, Blackpool and teams from Brazil and Qatar.

Closer to home, the Tangerines will also play Morecambe in a pre-season friendly and other matches are to be arranged.

Blackpool Council is to decide next week on whether to lease land to Blackpool FC and help lay the foundations for Bloomfield Road's redevelopment.

At a meeting on June 21, Executive Committee members will make the decision over the council owned land which lies to the north and west of the current ground.

In a report to councillors, chief executive Graham Essex-Crosby advises land should be rented at an amount less than its market value to ensure the development goes ahead.

He added that normally the council would be legally required to sell or rent its land on a commercial basis, but in this case special considerations applied.
