CHORLEY'S Ray Witts won the John Goodhall Memorial Trophy at Coventry, after eliminating leader Nick Houghton with four laps to go.
John Lund, who finished fifth, could add this year's European title to his bulging trophy cabinet this weekend.
The Clitheroe-based six-times world champion is currently seventh in the F1 national points table and one of the favourites for victory at Northampton International Raceway on Sunday.
