TELEVISION Grand Prix commentator Tony Jardine and former British rally champions Jimmy McRae and Russell Brookes are just three of the names lined up for John Price Millennium Rally Challenge.

The one-off, invitation-only team event features a host of star drivers in car ranging from a Ford Anglia to an ex-Juha Kankkunen Subaru Impreza WRC on New Brighton's Promenade.

It will mark 20 years of rallying at the Wirral, and follows Wallasey Motor Club's annual Promenade Stages.

As the north west's best tarmac rally, the Promenade Stages has a full-house 90-car entry for 10 stages totalling 45 miles around New Brighton's twists and turns.

Heading the field is 1994 winner Mike Oates in his Subaru Impreza.
