SHOPPERS at Asda in Colne got more than they bargained for when police and fire officers set up shop to hand out bags of advice on crime prevention and fire safety.
The joint initiative aimed to encourage shoppers to play their part in helping to make Lancashire a safer place to live and work by taking simple steps to prevent crime and risk of fire.
PC Gordon Purves said: "High profile policing campaigns like Operation Fortress have helped ensure crime across the Pennine area is falling.
"However, we are confident that, with help from the public, we can reduce crime figures even further."
