ADVICE to local consumers and businesses will be offered by the Lancashire County Council's Trading Standards department, who are going on the road in the county this summer.

Their newly refurbished mobile display unit will visit Clitheroe on Tuesday August 15, Padiham on Thursday September 7, and Bacup on Wednesday September 13.

It will allow local people to tell officers face to face about their nightmare holidays or faulty goods.

People wanting advice on any consumer problem relating to goods or services, what to look for on food labels, buying safe goods and how to put things right can tell officers when they visit their area.

The department also operates a call centre on 0845 6001 352.

County Coun Chris Cheetham, chairman of the finance and general purposes committee, who will launch the scheme tomorrow said the service covered a vast range of duties for the benefit of both consumers and businesses and it was important for them to find out if they were delivering what people wanted.
