A POLICE campaign in Rossendale targeting out-of-town criminals slashed crime in just two weeks.
Inspector Ewan Cameron, in charge at Rossendale West, said before the campaign there had been 18 crimes in two weeks in Edenfield, including 10 burglaries.
Insp Cameron said: "Intelligence sources told us criminals were travelling from the Greater Manchester area, so we set up static patrols on the routes between the Valley and Manchester.
"By the next week we had only one burglary in Edenfield, one in Haslingden and two vehicle crimes in Edenfield."
