BILLED as he most competitive British Superbike season ever, north west fans can judge for themselves when the fastest men on two wheels visit Oulton Park this weekend.
Going into the second half of the season, all attention has been focused on the long-running battle between Burnley's Neil Hodgson and crowd favourite Chris Walker. Their duel, which was ignited by a last-lap clash at Oulton in May was re-kindled at Silverstone last week when Walker got his revenge on the INS Ducati man. An ambitious overtaking manoeuvre was repelled by 'The Stalker', who held his line and left Hodgson with nowhere to go -- other than the grass.
Predicting a winner from rounds 13 and 14 is virtually impossible, given that anything can -- and will -- happen when the lights go green on Sunday. Spectators are advised to arrive early, over 22,000 watched May's British Superbike action at the Cheshire track and the organisers are confident of exceeding that figure this weekend.
