THE BOYS were back in town yesterday as the Clarets returned to pre-season training ahead of their first tilt at Division One football for six years.
Fit-again assistant boss Sam Ellis put the first-team squad, missing only Ian Wright and Mark Robertson from last season so far, through their paces as manager Stan Ternent wrapped up the deal to bring Lee Briscoe to Turf Moor.
That done, Ternent joined the team on the training ground at Gawthorpe and spoke to his players as they warmed down.
The management team will step up the regime, the first game coming in the Isle of Man tournament on Sunday week.
