CHORLEY manager Ken Wright is hoping to lure Leigh RMI's Mike Wallace to Victory Park this summer as he prepares to launch his promotion battleplan.

The classy midfielder, who was voted RMI's player of the year last season as they romped to the UniBond Premier Division title, met Wright for talks last night.

And the Magpies chief is desperately hoping to persuade the player his future lies at Victory Park as a number of clubs fight for his services.

"Micky's a good player and I'm sure he'd be a great signing for us," said Wright.

"But he's got a few irons in the fire so we'll just have to wait and see."

Wright is also running the rule over ex-Rossendale striker Paul Thompson -- the brother of former Chorley striker Peter.

And former Guiseley centre back Steve Hook is also training with the squad.

Chorley kick-off their pre-season campaign against Preston North End at Victory Park on Saturday.

And they also have home friendlies against Macclesfield (Tues, July 17) and Bolton Wanderers (Wed, Jul 26) pencilled in.
