CHILDREN at a Cleveleys school have created a mosaic as a lasting celebration of the new millennium.
Manor Beach School decided they wanted a memento that involved every pupil at the school in the year 2000.
Local designer Helen Callaghan was brought in to help co-ordinate the £1,500 pebble mosaic funded by the Friends of Manor Beach.
Situated outside the main entrance, it has a sea and beach theme portraying the seaside location of the school. And, by the time the mosaic is finished later this month, every one of the 413 pupils will have laid a pebble in it. "Everyone who visits the school will see the work and pupils can come back in years to come and say they played a part in its construction," said headmaster Peter Ellacott.
Helen Callaghan is seen above working on the mosaic with pupils.
