IN response to Mr G Wheatman (Letters, July 10), I would suggest to avoid non-payment of road tax discs that they be done away with altogether.
The government should increase the price of petrol.
This means that those who pollute the most and wear out the roads the most, pay the most.
Sadly, infrequent and unreliable public transport services in the East Lancashire area have done little to encourage people to leave their cars at home or at the park-and-ride point.
