I AM hoping readers may be able to help me. I am the secretary of the Entwistle Family History Association and am doing some local research for one of our members.
He believes that his great-grandfather Frederick Charles Entwistle, was secretary of the Blackburn Rucksack Cycle Club. He has no idea when this would be, but Frederick Charles died in 1953 and was buried in Sale, Cheshire.
If anyone could give me any idea of the dates this club was in existence, I could look through past copies of the local newspapers in the hope of finding some reference to him.
The Entwistle Family History Association was founded in September 1999 for anyone with an interest in the surname Entwistle and now has 56 members worldwide.
