BRAD Friedel is not on Rovers' wanted list -- whether he gets a work permit or not.
The Liverpool goalkeeper is stranded in the United States after the Department for Education and Employment refused to renew his work permit.
Friedel was due back at Anfield this week but the DfEE have turned down his application to re-enter the country because he did not play in 75 per cent of the Reds' matches last season.
According to reports elsewhere that could block a move by Graeme Souness for the United States international, who previously played under the Rovers boss at Galatasary.
However, while Souness rates the 29-year-old he is not interested in making a move thanks to the goalkeeping resources he has had at Ewood Park. Republic of Ireland international Alan Kelly is holding down the number one slot with back-up from John Filan and Alan Miller, who are all in Germany where Rovers kick-off their pre-season programme tonight.
