LAST season's Cross Cup finalists Atherton moved comfortably through to the next stage when they made light work of their game against Edgworth.
Atherton were all out for 169 with Phil West leading the way with 75 as deputy pro Paul Rayment took 4-27. West and Jonathan Hyde shared in a 59 run stand which gave Atherton respectability after a slow start.
It was slow going for Edgworth who were 35-0 after 19 overs overnight and fell to 108 all out with skipper Denver Thornton having to battle hard for 29. Jonathan Fearick grabbed 3-9 and Greg Greenough 3-16.
It was a stroll for Adlington who beat league strugglers A&T by 42 runs.
Adlington made 199-6 with Darryl Hitchen unbeaten on 65, Mark Halliwell 40 and Geoff Pilgrim 32.
In reply A&T made a disastrous start and were 5-3 before pro Nigel Doyle 44 and Anthony Walker 48 gave them respectability, although they were never in the hunt. Graeme Hurst took 3-19.
