Centurions skipper Andrew Fairclough continues his weekly column in which he takes an inside look at Hilton park WHAT a magnificent effort that was from the team to destroy Dewsbury last Sunday. The only word to describe it is awesome.

We knew it was going to be a tough game but never in our wildest dreams did with think we'd have to do it with 12 men. Hand on heart, I have to say that I didn't see the incident because I'd followed the flight of the ball.

But as captain I was able to talk to referee Russell Smith and I said to him: "It's a big call just two minutes into a semi-final." But he said he had to act on the evidence of his touch judges who both said 'Sid' had led with the elbow.

Whether he did or didn't I don't know, but his sending off only strengthened our desire to win the game. Perhaps deep down we felt we had to do it for 'Sid'. It will be a tragedy for the lad if he misses out on the Major Semi-Final and Grand Final through suspension.

But getting back to the game, it was probably one of the best performances I've ever been involved in. Every one of the team played their part, I can't single any individual out, it was a massive team effort.

We've now got a free wekend which will help one or two of the lads to get over niggling injuries and by the time we get to the Major Semi-Final, everybody should be fit and well.

The mood in the camp is absolutely brilliant at the moment but the one thing the lads keep talking about is the support we had at Dewsbury last Sunday.

It gave us a tremendous buzz to see so many of you there and the noise that came from the terraces certainly played a part in our performance. The lads want me to thank each and every one of you who made the trip. Keep it up and we'll get through to the Grand Final.
