RAMSBOTTOM professional Brad Hodge turned on the style again to keep his side at the top of the Transco Lancashire League table.

Hodge cracked an unbeaten 61 off just 53 balls as the leaders raced to an eight-wicket win over ENFIELD.

The visitors were restricted to 129-9 from 47 overs, David Bracewell top-scoring for Enfield with 33.

Rain then chopped three overs off the Ramsbottom reply but they needed just 24 overs to reached a revised target of 123.

With half an eye on the weather, Hodge didn't hang around. Receiving fine support from Simon Lord, whose unbeaten 30 took just 31 deliveries, Hodge hit eights fours and two sixes for victory.

RAWTENSTALL skipper Keith Roscoe collected his 50th league wicket of the season on the way to figures of 7-34.

But it wasn't enough to stop COLNE keeping their title hopes alive with a 36-run win.

Roscoe sparked a dramatic collapse among the visitors as they slumped from 103-1 to 148 all out after Gary Hunt and professional Ben Johnson had put on 81 for the first wicket.

However, that was still plenty as Nick Moulding bagged a five-wicket haul and Johnson weighed in with 4-57, including the important wicket of pro Matthew Mott.

Rawtenstall, set a rain reduced target of 135 from 42 overs, were never in the hunt as the bottom-of-the-table side lost their last five wickets for 20 runs. BURNLEY professional Geoff Foley hit a season's best 150 but still finished on the losing side as Mike Watkinson's unbeaten century led CHURCH to an outstanding seven-wicket win.

Foley hit three successive sixes to reach 150 before being bowled from the next ball as Burnley posted a daunting 247-5.

The Queenslander faced 181 balls in total with 17 fours and three sixes.

Church did little right with the ball but launched a stunning fightback to maintain their interest in the league title race. Watkinson guided Church home with 112 not out.

TODMORDEN professional Dan Marsh smashed a brilliant half century against HASLINGDEN at Centre Vale but it was all to no avail as the rain stopped the game.

Five overs had already been lost to the weather during the Todmorden innings but it didn't affect the home side who smashed 252-5 off 45 overs.

Openers Richard Baigent (44) and Stuart Priestley (25) put on 74 for the first wicket before Marsh then took full control with a masterful knock. The Aussie struck 12 fours and two sixes, before he was stumped for 90. But the Haslingden reply was cut short after just three balls.

NELSON reignited their bid to recapture the league title with a comfortable eight-wicket win over struggling RISHTON.

Martin Heap was the Seedhill bowling hero, taking 5-27 to take his tally to 40 wickets for the season, as the Blackburn side were bowled out for just 94. Sub pro South African GJ Kruis, standing in for Australian Jason Gillespie who is on international duty, was bowled out for just one.

Nelson's paid-man Keith Arthurton quickly saw his side past the total, in a reduced over game, making an unbeaten 54.

A stunning spell from LOWERHOUSE medium pacer Matt Hope destroyed ACCRINGTON'S hopes of maximum points at Thorneyholme Road. Chasing a rain affected total of 145 off 47 overs, the home side looked bang on course at 76-1. But then Steve Birtwistle (27) was run out after a Nathan Astle drive struck Hope and hit the wicket.

And Hope then did further damage with the ball, picking up 5-63, as Accrington lost their last seven wickets for just 25 runs.
