I SEE that Age Concern have teamed up with Powergen to offer a reduction in domestic fuel bills to pensioners who are in receipt of additional benefits (LET, August 29).
Yet again, the pensioners who have worked all their lives and have paid all their taxes and demands, and have provided for their retirements are being penalised for not having squandered their money on drinking, smoking, etc.
If they had, they would have qualified for all the perks going.
I, for one, will not be contributing when Age Concern hold out the begging bowl. I suspect that I am not the only pensioner with similar views.
