A SIX-WEEK-OLD puppy died after being thrown, kicked and stamped on by its owner, Reedley magistrates heard.
Christopher O'Leary, 26, of Cleveland Street, Colne, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to the cross-breed puppy on March 18.
A spokesman for the RSPCA told Burnley magistrates how the Society became involved when two neighbours of O'Leary saw him hurting the dog.
They watched from their back yard as O'Leary picked the puppy up and threw it against a wall, kicked it as if it was a football and stamped on it.
They saw the dog go limp and did not see it again.
An officer for the RSPCA dug up the dog from O'Leary's father's garden and a post mortem examination supported the evidence given by the neighbours.
Basil Dearing, defending, said O'Leary admitted the dog was proving difficult to house train and said: "It is of concern to him that the puppy died."
The case was adjourned until September 29.
