A WOMAN who left a suicide note for her family died of natural causes, an inquest heard.

Margaret Odor, 76, of Stanroyd Bungalows, Colne, died on July 7 at her home and was found by her daughter Truda Odor who was visiting from France.

Tests carried out for alcohol and drugs came back negative. Dr Zafar Qureshi gave the cause of death as a pulmonary embolism caused by thrombosis.

Stefan Odor, of Keighley Road, Colne, told East Lancashire coroner David Smith that his mother had got very ill since the death of his father ten years ago, suffering from osteoporosis and asthma.

He said she had two falls and spent some time in a nursing home before discharging herself and seemed to be in continuous pain.

A written statement by her daughter, Truda, said Margaret was fed up and grumpy during their last chat.

She could not get a response from her mother's house for three days during her visit. She discovered her mother had died in her bedroom.

A note to her family implying she had taken her own life was found on top of a pile of papers in her house.

A verdict of death by natural causes was recorded.
