INFANTS at King Edward VII and Queen Mary School in Lytham have been burying the past in an attempt to teach the children of the future.

The group buried a time capsule full of information about themselves, including a photograph and samples of their writing and drawing as well as some of their favourite toys.

The capsule will also contain one of the school's favourite documents -- the favourable Ofsted report they received this year.

Headmistress of the infants school, Meg Hargreaves, said: "We have decided to put it into the capsule because it gives a wonderful overall view of the school. It highlights the excellent academic standards but also compliments the school on the care and attention given."

The capsule was buried under the lawn of the school beside the new millennium sculpture.

Pictured about to biry thr capsule are (left to right) David Madox, Rico Tartaglion, Grace Finney, Joel Hendy and Emily Whiteside.
