REGARDING Councillor Don Rishton (Letters, October 3) asking Tory councillor D Pearson, in as many words, who was responsible for removing the link between pensions and earnings, hands up everyone who remembers that it was Mrs Thatcher who, through this mean and despicable act, robbed pensioners of some £30 a week.
The same person who at the recent Tory party conference denounced the government's pensions policy as "an outright fraud" and ended up by saying with pseudo-indignation, "That's Labour for you."
To that I would reply: "That's crocodile-tears Thatcher for you."
