WORK has started to create a better remembrance site for the war dead in Unsworth.
Improvements to the cenotaph are under way after long campaigning by locals.
The concrete posts will be replaced by metal ones, and the ground resurfaced. New litter bins and an extra seat will also be installed. The work should be finished next week.
