BIBLE lovers are being asked to hand-write verses from St Luke's Gospel and inscribe a place in local history.
Budding biblical calligraphers are asked to go along to Radcliffe Library on Saturday (Oct 14), where they will be asked to contribute £1 for each verse they commit to paper.
The sessions are being organised by the Radcliffe action group of the Bible Society. They will run from 9.45am to 12.45pm.
Writers are promised a chance to become a part of local history when a bound copy is produced to go on public display.
The former Mayor of Bury, John Costello, penned the opening verse back in April and organisers are hoping the current mayor, Councillor Bill Johnson, will be available to write the final one.
The idea is part of a national project by the Bible Society to help raise funds towards spreading the biblical message in the new millennium.
