FORMER Bury Grammar School pupil Juliet Shepherd was killed instantly when she lost control of her car, an inquest in Bury confirmed this week.
The 29-year-old recruitment consultant broke her neck and suffered severe chest injuries as a result of the horrific crash in Lumb Carr Road, Holcombe, early on Tuesday of last week.
A passenger in the car, Mr Steve Miller (41), from Liverpool, escaped from the wreckage with minor injuries.
At the opening of the inquest into the tragedy, Coroner Mr Barrie Williams heard how Miss Shepherd lived in Springwood Street, Ramsbottom.
She graduated from university with a BA in arts and English and had spent the last eight years living and working in London before returning to her home town earlier this year.
Miss Shepherd was a keen horse rider and enjoyed writing articles for a number of London-based magazines.
The inquest was adjourned to a later date to allow the conclusion of an investigation by traffic police into the accident.
