A PNE fan from across the Atlantic is ready to make her first trip overseas to see the boys play at Deepdale.

Patti, 49, who lives near Chicago, Illinois, is preparing to fly half way around the world this weekend to watch the PNE v Tranmere match on Saturday (October 14).

For the past three years footie fan Patti has followed the highs and lows of the Deepdale team via the world wide web and e-mails to other fans.

She has even devoted pages of her internet site to PNE, complete with pictures and regular updates of the team's progress.

As a devout Christian, Patti, who has seven children, has prayed for the team before every match.

And she is confident her prayers have been answered as the lads head toward the Premiership.

Now, after hearing that the Lilywhite fan had never watched the team play, kind-hearted PNE supporters from across the world have clubbed together to fly Patti over to see the Division One team in the flesh.

Patti said: "I'll be visiting Preston for the first time. I have never been out of the US before and I've never even seen an American soccer game! "But I'm confident that I will be meeting some of the nicest people in the world while visiting Preston. I'm completely overwhelmed and thankful. Contributions came from all over the world -- I only wish I could meet them all.

"I became interested in the team some years ago after being told by a devoted PNE fan on-line that they used to be the greatest team, but they'd been doing poorly for decades.

"I volunteered to pray for them and had to watch their progress on-line.

"I know that God has assisted in bringing PNE up to Division One. David Moyes becoming the manager was the first answered prayer.

"Without David Moyes' and the team's hard work, motivation and dedication, they wouldn't have won the Championship.

"All this combined with God's blessings and assistance is what will bring them into the Premiership.

"The PNE v Tranmere will be the first time I will see them play."

Now Patti is praying for a big win on Saturday with at least three goals against the Liverpool-based team.
