WILLIAMSON Park has continued to improve its facilities with the introduction of a brand new orienteering map.
The new map has the choice of eight courses suitable for beginners and intermediates and also a course suitable for wheelchair users.
Orienteering was first introduced into Williamson Park five years ago when only three courses were available.
The new map and permanent orienteering course incorporates not only the original parkland but also includes the new extension Fenham Carr, a natural woodland area.
The new maps are available from Williamson Park Shop and are subject to a new booking procedure, which will ensure the upkeep and maintenance of the course.
The council's Sports Development Team can provide orienteering sessions and competitions to schools, clubs and youth clubs.
