THE Lancashire Socialist Alliance will attract nobody, least of all disenchanted Labour voters (Citizen, October 5).

We have had enough of withered left wing policies or right wing, capitalist policies.

For years we have needed a middle-of-the-road government and for the first time in my lifetime, we now have a government that looks after the poorest people first and at the same time builds on economy second to none.

The building of schools and hospitals has taken place and interest rates remain the lowest rates for 20 years and is important to all mortgage-seekers.

Another term of office will see taxes come down and pensions will rise. We are now feeling the "feel good factor" promised but, never delivered by the Tory party who gave us boom and bust.

Houses were auctioned off and business people were made bankrupt. They even wanted to increase the tax on gas.

Socialist left-wing policies are not wanted in this country. I suggest they try Brazil, Sri Lanka or Chile. They'll get some support there.
