THE owners of Chorley Football Club are hoping to emulate the achievements of Conference new-boys Leigh RMI after agreeing a deal to buy Rugby League club Lancashire Lynx off Preston North End.

The Lynx will now be based at the Magpies' Victory Park ground and a new company called Chorley Sporting Club has been formed to run both the football and rugby clubs.

As a result, extensive ground improvements are now being carried out.

Leigh RMI and Leigh Centurions share a similar relationship, culminating in the football club's rise up the non-League pyramid.

Meanwhile, Chorley boss Wright is hoping his side can bounce back after two straight defeats when they visit Ossett Town tomorrow.

The Magpies have already chalked up a 1-0 victory at this season in the FA Cup but Wright expects them to be no pushovers.

"It's a hard place to go to because they're big and strong and very well organised so we are under no illusions about the size of the task."

Wright is again likely to be without former England Under 18 international Neil Mitchell while centre back Simon Kay will not be fit to start light training for another 2-3 weeks following an operation on his back.
