A MOTHER-OF-THREE sustained a foot injury after being struck by a car driven by a thief.
He emerged from the vehicle in the Asda car park at Pilsworth and attempted to steal a handbag from the 34-year-old woman.
When that failed, he grabbed a bag, belonging to the woman's mother, which was on a shopping trolley.
Other customers tried to block the culprit's escape as he drove at high speed to get out of the car park.
The women, who were with two young boys and an 18-month-old baby girl, were making their way back to their vehicle when the thief sped towards them.
He is described as aged 25-30 and of a scruffy appearance. Police are investigating.
