A BREATHTAKING mural depicting an Alpine scene has been unearthed by a family during a spot of DIY.
Now Mrs Judith Tomkins is trying to trace the artist behind the picture.
"We do not know what to do now. The mural really is wonderful and it seems a shame to cover it up. My children really love it."
The painting on the lounge wall was discovered at the family home in Derwent Drive, Bury.
"There is a signature with the year 1971 on it. But whether the date is by a previous occupant who discovered it or whether it is by the artist we just don't know," said Mrs Tomkins, who is pictured with the colourful mural.
Anyone who can shed any light on the mural should ring 0161 280 0945.
