That's 30 members of Bury's Metropolitan Community Twinning Association who are travelling to Belgium next Tuesday (Nov 28) to visit the European Parliament.
There, they will be received by North West Euro MP Gary Titley who will brief them on European parliamentary procedures and answer questions.
Then, the Bury delegation will sit in on a debate, having been provided with headphones so as to be able to follow the simultaneous translation.
The journey is being made by coach, crossing overnight from Hull to
Zeebrugge, with a sight-seeing stop in Bruges on the way.
The party will be back in Bury on December 1.
A similar trip to the European Parliament in Strasbourg in the late 1980s proved highly successful and it is expected
that this journey too will add an additional dimension to twinning in Bury.
