A GRIME-BUSTING team effort is ensuring the transformation of a Darwen grot-spot into an attractive town centre park.

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council has joined forces with the Friends of Shorey Bank group, local Guides and Brownies and the Darwen River Valley Initiative to landscape Shorey Bank Park.

Much of the project has involved work on the footpaths and the replacement of benches and a bridge.

The area had become generally overgrown and derelict but now it is well on the way to enjoying a new lease of life for the 21st century.

If you have a project that you think is worth celebrating then we want to hear about it. Or if you know someone who is doing good work for the environment and would like to nominate them for Grimebuster or Junior Grimebuster of the Year then let us know.
