EAST Lancashire competitors in the Network Q Rally all made it safely through the opening 1.5-mile Super Special in Cardiff -- and picked up valuable places.
Alistair Ginley, driving the Boland Motorsport of Barnoldswick Subaru Impreza, finished the first stage in 64th overall from seeding of 77.
Geoff Fielding and his Great Harwood-based navigator Clive Molyneux made up 32 places to claim 100th in their Ford Escort Cosworth.
Class N1 favourites David Bateson, from Barrowford, and co-driver Daniel Barritt, were 116th overall in their Volkswagen Polo.
