Christmas shoppers on the hunt for a special gift can pick-up a copy of a new CD launched recently.

The Official PNE CD is a compilation of various tracks. It was launched at HMV, in Fishergate, Preston, with creator and singer Tony Slater and the lads from PNE.

Cash raised from sales of the CD will be split between Derian House Children's Hospice, in Chorley and St Catherine's Hospice, in Lostock Hall.

Heading the album is the PNE signature tune Can't Help Falling in Love, sung by Tony.

Other tracks include When the Ball Crosses the Line, performed by popular band Treehouse as a tribute to former PNE player Ken Horton.

In his day, Ken scored a memorable 22 goals for the club and played alongside many big names on the pitch including the great Sir Tom Finney. Other recordings include Always in Love, by Preston singer Steve Bayliss and an original track entitled Get Up and Sing Barmy Army One, from University of Central Lancashire music teacher, Greg Finch.

And Tony's brother, singer/songwriter TJ, belts out his own version of the Freddy Mercury classic, We Are the Champions, with lyrics specially adapted for the club. The CD features pictures of the club's players, past and present, and the club's current manager, David Moyes.

Tony said: "This is a fantastic CD and an ideal Christmas present. Overseas fans will enjoy the album not only for the music but as a PNE keepsake."

Next Thursday, (November 30) the Deepdale players will be visiting the Sainburys stores in Deepdale and Bamber Bridge, between 2pm and 4pm, to sign copies of the album.

Copies of the CD cost £4.95 and are available from HMV, Sainsburys and the PNE Snooker Club.
