BOLTON Wanderers travel to Sheffield United tomorrow looking for a second successive away victory and hoping to make it five games unbeaten.

Currently third in Division One, Sam Allardyce's side are leading the north west charge for promotion.

On the back of a win at Norwich City, Allardyce is calling for much the same at Bramall Lane. Top scorer Michael Ricketts is expected to continue leading the line, but fellow striker Dean Holdsworth, who missed last night's reserve game with West Brom, is doubtful.

On-loan Danish striker Carsten Fredgaard opened his Trotters' account with the winning goal for the reserves, and is hoping to start tomorrow.

Wanderers might be just outside the automatic promotion places, but Allardyce is anything but complacent. Since the start of this campaign he has run the rule over 47 trialists, seeking to strengthen the squad for the challenges ahead.

Latest hopeful to drop into the Reebok arrivals lounge is 24-year-old Australian international Scott Chipperfield. The striker from Wollongong Wolves has been capped several times by the national squad, but securing a work permit could prove a problem.

Meanwhile, Allardyce continues to track Cameroon defender Pierre Njanka, who is currently plying his trade with Strasburg in the French League, as a direct replacement for Mark Fish.

The Bolton boss said: "He had a good trial over here and was impressive with the reserves. We are thinking about putting a permanent package together for him."
