MAY I inform "Unhappy Motorist" (Your Letters, Nov 17) that I too am a council tax payer, living and working in Bury and I need to use my car daily. And I don't like paying for a car parking permit either.
As I actually work for Bury MBC the only "perk" I get is the privilege of paying for my car parking permit directly from my salary. I am sure there are some council employees who do benefit from free parking permits. However I, along with many other colleagues I'm sure, would love to have one of the 1,000 free parking spaces "Unhappy Motorist" refers to (where on earth are these free spaces?).
