Irlam Hornets 20 UGB 30
UG scored a well-deserved win over fellow strugglers Irlam Hornets.
Blake and Hussey scored first-half tries for the visitors, both converted by David Ball, with Irlam replying in similar fashion to leave the game deadlocked at 12-12 at the interval.
After the break though UG broke away with tries from Sorby, Cartwright and Pownall and three more goals by Ball.
M. Griffiths took the Birkett Motors man-of-the-match award for the winners.
