MORE than fifty accountancy firms in Lancashire and South Cumbria are supporting a new scheme to aid recruitment and identify opportunities for people wanting to change jobs.
Formed by the North West Society of Chartered Accountants, Norwest Recruit operates as a clearing house for the region's accounting and financial sector, linking job-seekers to vacancies.
Roy Barraclough, administrator of the North West SCA, said the aim was to offer an economical and effective service to professional accountancy firms, and to other companies seeking to recruit finance personnel.
He said: "Ideally, Norwest Recruit would be the first resort for firms with vacancies, and for people who wanted to change jobs, whether they are qualified chartered accountants, or non-qualified staff.
"Already, firms supporting this initiative range form the large international accountancy organisations with offices in the North West, to the smaller regional practices."
