DAVE Ashby, of Blackburn will be shedding his long locks in a cut-athon in memory of Carole Cassidy who died last year.

Carole was cared for in the East Lancashire hospice where she died from a brain tumour at the aged just 39.

All the money raised will be shared between the hospice and the Macmillan nurses charity.

The hospice needs to raise £1.3 million to have it re-built and over £300,000 per year to keep the hospice running.

Blackburn Rovers have donated a signed copy of their 125th anniversary book which will be raffled on the night.

A fund-raising night is to be held at the Manxman hotel, Manxman Road, Blackburn on Thursday, 3 May, at 7.30pm till late. There will be a disco and buffet on the night and admission is free, although all donations are welcome.
