THE quest is on for information about a local hero.
It was triggered by a wealth of earlier correspondence, on this page, regarding second world war aircraft. And now, R. Hill of Freckleton Road, Toll Bar, wonders if any other readers can provide details, anecdotes or even a picture, of Lt. Joseph Siddall.
Mr Hill writes: "I believe he was a naval man (9 Naval/209 Sqn) but took up flying, possibly locally, before becoming a front-line fighter ace".
Our Toll Bar correspondent believes his squadron was involved with Richthofen, the day the legendary German was killed.
NOW it's 'Roger and out' to all our knowledgable war enthusiasts. Please drop me a line at the Star if you can help.
