ALL things green will be celebrated during May's Green Week.
Bird enthusiasts can learn more about bird song at Sunnyhurst Woods, Darwen, with local expert Mavis Smith at the first event on Sunday, May 20.
Also on Sunday, Everton Street Bowling Green will hold a green week doubles bowling tournament followed on Monday by a green lunch, using organic foods, for pensioners at Darwen Community Centre.
Schoolchildren can make tubs and hanging baskets for the centre's sensory garden on Tuesday.
Libraries will be joining in with a new version of the popular "book in a bag" scheme, offering randomly chosen books with an environmental theme to readers.
