THERE will be an extravaganza of music when 'Beyond Broadway' comes to the Theatre Royal St Helens on Friday, April 27 with curtain up at 7.30pm.

This features an evening of dazzling highlights from the top Broadway and West End shows.

And be prepared to be amazed when international illusionist Dr Bondini comes to the theatre on Friday, May 4 at 7.30pm and Saturday, May 5 at 2.30 and 7.30pm when you can experience the magic of the past, present and future in this spellbinding show.

Meanwhile, on Monday, May 7 the Youth Theatre Workshop present 'Bugsy Malone' the play from 7pm.

Mr Chan's Restaurant, North Road is still hosting 'Images and Imaginings' an exhibition by The Poet and The Painter -- yours truly and Carole Anne Eaves -- until, Wednesday, May 2.

ThE Citadel, Waterloo Street, will play host to 'They call her Natasha' on Friday, April 27 from 8pm, providing a celebration of the work of Elvis Costello.

Then on Saturday, April 28 The St Helens Music Collective take to the Citadel stage from 8pm. Featured bands are Cutting Creatures, Sticks and Stones, The Crash Band and MSP.

And Thursday, May 3 sees Simon Day, star of 'The Fast Show' and all-round funny man, appearing there from 8pm.

Then there is a treat for youngsters aged between four and nine years old on Saturday, May 5 when Little Angel Theatre present 'In the beginning . . . what if?', a delightful puppet show.

There is a great evening of entertainment in store when Pilkington Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Society present 'Songs 'R' Us' on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28 at St Mary's Social Club, Birchley. Celebrating a century of music, the show starts at 7.30pm and tickets, priced £3.50, are available from Billinge Post Office on 01744 892201.

The World of Glass is playing host to 'Come On You Saints', an exhibition of St Helens Rugby League Club memorabilia, until Wednesday, May 9.

The Willowbrook Hospice Roadshow will be at Sidac Social Club, Wheatsheaf Avenue, Sutton on Friday, May 11. This will feature Kieran Jones, winner of our 'Stars in their Eyes' competition and Amy Lyon, Adele Hoffman and Kate Horgan, all finalists in our 'Young Stars of Tomorrow' competition. St Helens Choral Society are holding their Spring Concert on Saturday, April 28 at St Helens Town Hall starting at 7.30pm. A charity disco is taking place at Penlake Club, Sutton on Friday, April 27 from 7.30pm. Tickets are £3 with all proceeds going to farmers in their time of need.
