TUNE into BBC series 'A Family of My Own' this week when a St Helens foster family face the cameras.
Sue and Jeff Smith, from Billinge, have fostered a little girl for three years. The five year old has learning and mobility difficulties, but has made vast improvements in the Smith family's care.
And although it is often difficult to find adoptive families for disabled children, the family have a very strong bond with her and have applied to adopt her.
And Sue and Jeff's own daughter, Lauren, 11, has received a Good Citizen Award from John Moores University in Liverpool, after being nominated by her headmaster John Leake of St Mary's Birchley in Billinge, for her care and dedication to the children fostered by her family.
