A LECTURER from St Helens is taking part in an exciting new internet project for teachers.
Chris Macro, a senior lecturer in primary science at Edge Hill College, Ormskirk, has been asked to contribute to a web-based resource called Heinemann Explore.
Along with colleagues, Phil Taylor and Karen Hartley, Chris will write resources for teachers around the country to use.
Teachers subscribe to the Heinemann service, which provides a range of resources for use in the classroom.
Heinemann Explore presently covers history, ICT and literacy, but the Edge Hill trio will be contributing to a new science section, aimed at children aged seven to 11.
Chris said: "Many schools are already using the site. We will be writing investigations for children to carry out and we hope that teachers and children will find the work exciting".
Although this is Chris and her colleagues' first venture into internet publishing, they have already written many traditional books for use in the classroom and Heinemann has published series by them on the senses and bugs.
