A POLICEMAN has been cleared of assault and threatening behaviour after an incident while he was off duty at the town's FJ Nichols pub.
PC Claudio Fardella, fromBlackburn, was cleared of all the charges at Lancaster Magistrates Court. The alleged incident happened in the pub on Northgate last year on April 14. He was suspended on October 5 when the Crown Prosecution Service said it would take the matter to court.
The deputy chief constable and the Police Complaints Authority have now decided to lift his suspension.
