FORMER Piccadilly Radio DJ Mike Sweeney isn't about to turn his back on his old club!
The popular media personality is to give a live performance with his band, the Thunderbyrds, at the Chicago Rock Cafe in a bid to boost the Save Our Shakers fund.
Mike will be on stage on Wednesday June 6 and the keen football fan, who played a few games for Bury reserves about 20 years ago and is now working for Capital Gold radio station in London, said: "I'm really pleased to have this opportunity to help the club as my connections with Bury go back a long way.
"A couple of the lads in the band are long time supporters of the club and I didn't think twice about agreeing to do a gig.
"We want to make it a great party night that everyone can enjoy and get involved in and, hopefully, raise some money for the club."
Tickets for the event are £3 and tables for diners can be booked by contacting Peter Young on 0161-705 2144.
