TYLDESLEY RU moved to top spot in the North Lancashire Division with a runaway 67-17 victory at Broughton.

Fielding a patched up side due to unavailability and a Second team taking 26 players out of the reckoning, Tyldesley surged into a early 18-0 lead.

Once again No.8 Darren Edge caused havoc in the home teams defensive line and Tyldesley exploited every opportunity to the full.

Stand-off David Sivill grabbed a hat-trick as did flanker Lee Berrisford who made it eight tries in three games. Left wing Gary Corbett grabbed his 17th try of the season.

Opposite winger Eddie Wallbank registered a new club points record for the season with two tries, eight conversions and two penalties to take his tally to 302 points for the season.

With one game in the league remaining against Broughton at home Tyldesley will be hoping to find the 55 points needed to see them past the 1000 point mark for the first time since 1959-60.

Tyldesley will face Leigh in the Grainey Memorial Cup at Well Street and either Vickers or St.Benedicts in the promotion play-off final assuming second place De Le Salle don't lose their remaining two games.
